- I got a new Dell High Density Floppy drive and hooked it up to
- my A2000 (A2630, KS 3.1). It works OK on low density floppy
- disks but with High Density I have problems.
-
- 1) When trying to format a HD floppy in Amiga format, it says
- 1760 Bytes, but then it says it can't Format Cylinder 0. On
- a couple of disks, it did start to format, but then failed
- on cylinder 44 (both drives).
-
- 2) When I tried Cross DOS, it wouldn't put up an ICON for a
- HD floppy, unless I entered a DIR command right after mounting
- the disk. Then I got an error reading the file allocation table
- and the file names from the disk had stray wrong characters
- here and there.
-
- Did I get a bum drive? What do you think?
